Training and Development
Feros Care offers all staff a comprehensive training and development program
Training is provided in-house with engaged external experts when required. Training can be delivered on-site or using self-directed learning packages including DVD, written and 1-on-1 competency-based programs. Feros Care also uses the Aged Care Channel as a tool for providing staff with the latest, most up to date, clinical education.
All Feros Care staff must complete the following mandatory education:
- Feros Care Orientation;
- Manual Handling Training Module 1 with associated Workplace Assessment;
- Infection Control with associated Hand Washing Assessment;
- Workplace Health and Safety; and
- Fire Safety with associated evacuation competency (except for community-based staff where there is no evacuation competency to be completed).
In addition to the above, the following mandatory education may be deemed a requirement for various classifications of staff (such as nursing, domestic and catering staff) as directed by the Service Manager:
- Manual Handling Training Module 2 with associated Workplace Assessment;
- Manual Handling Training Module 3 with associated Workplace Assessment;
- Food Safety;
- Chemical Awareness;

Feros Care also offers its own unique Seven Star Staff Development Program. The program has been designed to build the skills and knowledge of staff to be able to fulfil the values and service principles of our organisation
